The present
church was built in 1871 on a site of a Saxon and then
Mediaeval church. It is a fine example of late
Victorian Gothic set in landscaped grounds in Bolton
Town Centre. Reputedly it has the highest church tower
in Lancashire. The church is open daily, except
Mondays, for visitors but tower tours must be booked in
advance.
Directions: At the junction of
Silverwell Street, Churchgate and Churchbank in Bolton
Town Centre. |
