I make reasonably priced
wheel thrown pottery and hand built sculptural ceramics for the home
and garden. My gallery is onsite, which you can visit and
browse, or buy my work and where we also have honey and Honey
conserves for sale. As well as a pottery and beekeeping, we
also have a smallholding where we aim to be self-sufficient.

Visitors can still climb the tower today despite it suffering massive damage during the Civil War. There are great views from the top! Then make sure you discover the underground passage from the kitchen to the tower, probably created during this war, which can still be explored today. |

Make it part of an enjoyable family day out in Leicestershire with a picnic in the grounds or take a walk around the moat. |
| Lyddington Bede House | Uppingham | Other Building | | Set beside the church of the picturesque ironstone village of Lyddington, Lyddington Bede House originated as the medieval wing of a palace belonging to the Bishops of Lincoln. By 1600 it had passed to Sir Thomas Cecil, son of Queen Elizabeth’s chief minister, who converted it into an almshouse for 12 poor ‘bedesmen’ over 30 years old and two women (over 45), all free of lunacy, leprosy or the French pox. Visitors can wander through the bedesmen’s rooms, with their tiny windows and fireplaces, and view the former bishops’ Great Chamber on the first floor, with its beautifully carved ceiling cornice. |

| Rutland Railway Museum | Cottesmore | Quarrying Museum | | The Museum is based on the ironstone quarrying heritage of Rutland and the East Midlands and sets out to portray a typical quarry system as it would have operated from around 1950 to the late 1970's when the industry closed. The Museum's open air site hosts a large collection of steam and diesel locomotives, wagons and vans together with drag lines and excavators. There is also an indoor Museum telling the story of ironstone quarrying in the area and of the giant dragline "Sundew", at its time the largest dragline in the World.
