Interested in the archaeology of the north of England? The Museum of
Antiquities has it all: The earliest prehistoric objects, superb
Bronze Age displays, impressive Anglo Saxon sculpture and medieval
jewellery. It is the main museum for Hadrain's Wall with
internationally famous artefacts and a reconstructed temple to
Mithras.

The Shefton Museum has
the most significant collection of archaeological material from the
Greek world in the north of England. On display are many fine
examples of Greek painted pottery, from Athens and other Greek
cities, as well as an impressive range of armour, other metal
objects and sculpture.
